Job Summary
The Layout Design Engineer will be part of the Embedded Systems team and will be responsible for PCB layout design for embedded hardware products, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design PCB layouts for embedded hardware systems
- Interpret schematics and convert them into optimized PCB designs
- Create multi-layer PCB layouts using standard design tools
- Ensure proper component placement, routing, and signal integrity
- Perform design rule checks (DRC) and layout validation
- Optimize designs for manufacturing and cost efficiency
- Coordinate with fabrication and assembly vendors
- Maintain proper documentation for layouts and revisions
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of PCB design and layout principles
- Experience with tools like Altium, Eagle, KiCad, or similar
- Understanding of embedded systems and electronic components
- Basic knowledge of signal integrity, grounding, and EMI/EMC
- Ability to read and interpret schematics
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in multi-layer PCB design
- Exposure to IoT or industrial electronics products
- Familiarity with PCB manufacturing and assembly processes
Education
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or related field
