Designation: Junior Electronics Engineer – Assembly, Testing & R&D
Experience: 0–3 years
Education: Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Instrumentation, or related field.
Core responsibilities
1. Electronics assembly
- Assemble PCBs predominantly using SMD components.
- Identify components from BOM and PCB assembly drawings.
- Manually place SMD components on PCBs.
- Operate soldering/reflow oven.
- Perform visual inspection of solder joints.
- Do through-hole soldering where required.
- Perform soldering/rework and replace defective components.
- Maintain ESD-safe working practices.
2. Programming & testing
- Program microcontrollers/electronics using the required programming interface.
- Perform initial power-up and bring-up of assembled PCBs.
- Test electronic boards using a multimeter, oscilloscope, power supply, electronic load, etc.
- Follow test procedures and record test results.
- Troubleshoot defective boards down to component level where possible.
- Maintain records of PCB failures, repairs and recurring problems.
3. Assembly
- Make and terminate cables/ connectors.
- Perform continuity and electrical testing of cables.
- Assemble the completed instrument and perform functional testing.
4. Product development
As the engineer becomes familiar with the products:
- Assist in developing new electronic products.
- Assist senior engineers with PCB testing and debugging.
- Modify existing circuits and assemblies.
- Build prototypes.
- Document assembly and testing procedures.
- Eventually take ownership of smaller electronics projects.
Nice to have:
- Experience with reflow/soldering
- Arduino/STM32/ESP32/PIC/AVR experience
- Embedded C/C++
- PCB design exposure
- Experience with laboratory instruments
- Experience in instrumentation/medical/scientific equipment
- Experience with electrochemical instruments
- 3D printing knowledge
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
