Job DescriptionRole Summary
The Manager – Cost Engineering & Projects will be responsible for project cost engineering, BOQ preparation, vendor commercial integration, technical feasibility assessment, and prototype execution support.
This role acts as a bridge between Business Development, Design and Execution teams to ensure commercially viable and technically feasible project planning and delivery.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Cost Engineering & BOQ Management
- Prepare detailed BOQs, quantity estimations, and project costing sheets
- Analyze project requirements and prepare commercially competitive costing structures
- Ensure costing accuracy aligned with project scope and execution feasibility
- Maintain standardized costing templates and estimation processes
2. Vendor Commercial & Rate Card Management
- Develop, maintain, and update vendor rate cards across categories
- Conduct comparative commercial analysis and vendor benchmarking
- Coordinate with procurement and vendors for cost optimization
- Support commercial negotiations and cost finalization
3. Technical Feasibility & Material Consultation
- Evaluate material suitability, production feasibility, and execution practicality
- Recommend technically viable and commercially optimized solutions
- Identify project risks and execution challenges during planning stage
- Suggest alternative materials and value-engineering solutions
4. Prototype & Sample Execution
- Coordinate prototype and sample development with internal teams and vendors
- Ensure prototypes are executed as per approved specifications and timelines
- Monitor prototype quality, dimensions, finish, and material standards
- Resolve technical and execution-related issues during development stage
5. Client Technical Consulting & Pitch Support
- Participate in client presentations, pitches, and technical discussions
- Explain technical specifications, execution methodology, material recommendations, and costing logic
- Support Business Development and Client Servicing teams with technical-commercial inputs
- Build client confidence through solution-oriented consultation
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Design, Procurement, Production, and Execution teams for project alignment
- Ensure seamless flow of technical and commercial information
- Support operations team during project planning and execution stages
7. Documentation & Process Improvement
- Maintain project costing records, vendor databases, feasibility reports, and technical documentation
- Standardize BOQ formats, costing structures, and commercial documentation
- Contribute to process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of cost engineering and project estimation
- Expertise in BOQ preparation and quantity analysis
- Knowledge of retail fit-outs, branding, fabrication, interiors, or production execution
- Strong vendor management and commercial negotiation skills
- Technical understanding of materials, fabrication, and execution methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent coordination and communication abilities
- Client-facing presentation and consultation capability
- Proficiency in MS Excel and project costing tools
Preferred Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in project costing, estimation, technical projects, or execution planning with retail rollout, branding, interiors, fabrication, production, or advertising industry preferred
- Prior exposure to client pitches and technical-commercial discussions will be an added advantage
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Production, Civil, Interior, Mechanical, or related field
- Additional certification in costing/project management will be preferred
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
