- Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)/KPIs:
- Develop, implement, and enforce clinical policies and procedures specific to the infusion centre. Maintain accurate patient records in EMR in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
- Oversee incident reporting and quality improvement initiatives. Manage clinical outcomes, medications and treatment, ensuring adequate patient care. Ensure the clinical practises and adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Supervise, train, and mentor other center staff. Manage and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts. Promote professional development and ensure clinical staff stays current on best practices for diabetes and kidney care.
- Oversee and provide direct and indirect patient care related to micro dose intravenous insulin infusion. Ensure accurate and safe preparation and administration of intravenous insulin and other medications.
- Coordinate care plans with other physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
- Monitor and manage patients’ conditions, especially those with DFUs, DPN, and DKD, during treatment.
- Ensure proper wound care protocols are followed for patients with DFUs. Provide education to patients and caregivers regarding diabetes management and infusion therapy.
- Participate in Quality Assurance programs. Identify unsafe care practices and contribute to corrective action. Adhere to the hospital policies and clinical protocols.
- Participate in the hospital quality improvement program. Maintain confidentiality of patients’ information. Adhere to the safety protocols of the hospital and ensure safety of the patients. Guide and supervise the work of junior doctors and the nurse associates. Delegate tasks to the nurse associates and other health care assistants rationally.
- Work in accordance with the ISO, NABH and JCIA standards.
