Roles and Responsibilities of Electrical cum MEP Engineer
Job Purpose
The Project Manager (PMC) shall act as the Site In-Charge and be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, monitoring, supervision, and successful delivery of the assigned project. The role involves managing the PMC site team, coordinating with the Client, Consultants, Contractors, Vendors, and Statutory Authorities, ensuring that the project is executed in accordance with the approved scope, quality standards, schedule, budget, safety requirements, and contractual obligations. The Project Manager shall report functionally and administratively to the PMC Head.
The responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Lead the assigned PMC project from mobilization through commissioning and final handover.
- Act as the Company's representative and PMC Site In-Charge at the project site.
- Build, lead, mentor and manage the site-based PMC team.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower and project resources.
- Maintain effective communication with the Client and PMC Head.
- Prepare detailed execution plans for review and approval by the PMC head.
- Monitor construction progress against the approved Master Schedule.
- Review contractor resource deployment and progress.
- Identify delays and develop recovery plans in coordination with contractors.
- Ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Submit fortnightly and monthly progress updates to the PMC Head.
- Supervise construction activities on behalf of the Client.
- Coordinate with Architects, Structural Consultants, MEP Consultants, Contractors and Vendors.
- Ensure construction complies with approved drawings, specifications and BOQ.
- Resolve day-to-day construction issues and ensure smooth coordination among all stakeholders.
- Coordinate with statutory authorities during inspections.
- Implement the QA & QC system approved by the PMC.
- Monitor quality of workmanship.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Verify closure of QA/QC observations and NCRs.
- Recommend improvements in construction quality.
- Ensure implementation of HSE requirements.
- Monitor contractor safety performance.
- Conduct periodic safety inspections.
- Ensure statutory safety compliance.
- Report major safety incidents immediately to the PMC Head.
- Verify executed work and quantities through site measurements against approved drawings and BOQ.
- Review contractor's RA and Final Bills and recommend them to the PMC Head for Certification.
- Review variation orders and additional work proposals and submit recommendations to the PMC Head.
- Monitor project cost against approved budget.
- Report commercial deviations to the PMC Head.
- Ensure timely receipt of Good for Construction (GFC) drawings.
- Issue approved drawings to contractors.
- Maintain drawing register and revision control.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design interfaces.
- Ensure construction is carried out as per latest approved drawings.
Maintain complete project documentation including:
- Minutes of Meetings (MOM)
- Action Taken Reports (ATR)
- Daily Progress Reports (DPR)
- Weekly/Fortnightly Reports
- Monthly Progress Reports
- QA/QC Reports
- Safety Reports
- Drawing Register
- Correspondence Register
- Client Instructions
- Technical Submittals
- Site Records
Prepare monthly presentations for Client Review Meetings.
- Conduct coordination meetings.
- Chair site review meetings.
- Ensure implementation of agreed action points.
- Maintain effective client relationship.
- Escalate critical issues to the PMC Head.
- Manage Civil, MEP, QA/QC, Planning, Billing and Safety Engineers.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Promote teamwork and professional development.
- Identify project risks.
- Maintain Risk Register.
- Develop mitigation plans.
- Monitor critical project issues.
- Escalate significant risks to the PMC Head.
Reporting to PMC Head
- Submit fortnightly and monthly project reports.
- Present project status, key risks and recovery plans.
- Seek approval where required.
- Implement strategic directions issued by the PMC Head.
- Ensure project delivery in accordance with approved scope, schedule, cost and quality objectives.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
