We are a maritime technology startup building software solutions for the commercial shipping industry, including Voyage Estimator, Laytime Calculator, Market Analyzer, and other operational and analytics tools used in shipping and freight markets.
Our current stack includes PHP, Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and Microsoft Azure. We are looking for a hands-on technical leader who can contribute directly to development, lead the engineering team, and help evolve our platform toward a modern, scalable, cloud-native architecture powered by data and AI-driven capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and maintain production-grade code across frontend and backend systems
- Lead and mentor the development team
- Review code and enforce engineering best practices
- Design scalable APIs, backend services, and system architecture
- Manage cloud infrastructure, deployments, and DevOps workflows
- Improve performance, reliability, security, and maintainability of applications
- Collaborate with product and business teams to convert operational requirements into technical solutions
- Drive migration toward modern frameworks and scalable architecture
- Define development standards, workflows, and technical roadmap
- Contribute to AI/ML-driven product features and analytics solutions
- Evaluate and implement modern cloud, automation, and data engineering tools
Required Experience & Skills
- 5–7 years of software development experience
- Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams
