Job Summary
The Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting in day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining financial records, preparing vouchers, processing invoices, handling bank transactions, and ensuring accurate bookkeeping in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records and financial transactions.
- Prepare and record journal entries, payment vouchers, and receipts.
- Process purchase, sales, and expense invoices.
- Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable management.
- Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts.
- Maintain cash book, petty cash, and general ledger records.
- Prepare GST, TDS, and other statutory data as required.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
- Verify bills, invoices, and supporting documents for accuracy.
- Assist in payroll processing and employee reimbursement records.
- Generate financial reports and MIS reports as required.
- Coordinate with auditors, vendors, and internal departments.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
- 0–3 years of experience in accounting and finance.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping practices.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and accounting software (Tally ERP, Busy, SAP, or ERP systems).
- Understanding of GST, TDS, and basic taxation.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information.
