A furniture manufacturing Plant Manager directs daily facility operations from raw material procurement to final dispatch. They balance production efficiency, cost control, and product quality, and are responsible for meeting sales targets, managing the workforce, and ensuring safety.
- Production Planning & Execution: Translate sales orders into executable daily and weekly manufacturing schedules.
- Manufacturing Oversight: Monitor processing stages including cutting, edge-banding, assembly, and finishing processes using machinery like CNCs, beam saws, and multi-boring machines.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality standards for prototypes and finished goods, reducing material wastage, rejections, and rework.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and evaluate shop-floor staff—including carpenters, upholsterers, and assemblers—while planning manpower requirements.
- Inventory & Supply Chain: Coordinate with procurement teams for the timely availability of raw materials like wood, MDF, foam, hardware, and fabrics.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce workplace safety regulations, statutory labor laws, and factory compliance standards.
- Process Improvement: Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives to boost overall plant efficiency.
- Experience: Typically 5 to 15+ years in a production management role within the furniture, interior fit-out, or modular furniture industries.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of furniture manufacturing techniques, wood/upholstery processing, and ERP/MRP software for production planning.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.
Pay: ₹19,826.13 - ₹30,000.00 per month
