Role: Community Nutritionist (Aspirational Health Project)
Location: Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir
Contract Duration: 12 Months
1. Project Context
As part of the Aspirational Health Initiative, we are deploying digital health kiosks across Udhampur to provide real-time vital screenings. The Community Nutritionist will act as the primary clinical expert for individuals flagged by these kiosks, specifically focusing on malnutrition and chronic lifestyle diseases.
2. Core Responsibilities
● Clinical Triage: Monitor kiosk data and provide immediate nutritional counseling to community members identified with high-risk vitals (Anemia, Malnutrition, BMI imbalances).
● Case Management: Develop and monitor personalised nutrition recovery plans for identified community members.
● Content Localisation: Develop and adapt IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials in Dogri, Hindi, and Urdu to improve nutritional literacy. ● Group Intervention: Lead 50+ community health sessions focusing on chronic disease management and preventive dietary habits.
● Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a bridge between the health kiosk technology and the community, fostering trust and encouraging long-term lifestyle changes. ● Data Management: Maintain digital records of patient progress and malnutrition recovery rates.
● Last-Mile Delivery: Ensure 500+ IEC kits reach targeted households, especially those in backward panchayats.
3. Qualifications & Requirements
● Academic: Masters or Bachelors in Social Work, Food & Nutrition, Dietetics, or Public Health.
● Certification: Registration with the Indian Dietetic Association (IDA) or a similar body is preferred.
● Languages: Native or professional fluency in Dogri, Hindi, and Urdu is mandatory. ● Experience: 3+ years in community health, NGO sectors, or clinical dietetics in rural settings.
● Soft Skills: Strong empathetic communication, public speaking abilities, and a proactive approach to preventive care.
4. Key Milestones
● Outreach: Distribution of 500 standardised IEC kits.
● Engagement: Successful conduct of 50 group health workshops.
● Clinical Impact: Demonstrated improvement in recovery of SAM/MAM (malnourished) cases flagged by kiosks.
5. Technical Skills
● Ability to interpret clinical vitals (SPO2, Blood Pressure, BMI, Hemoglobin). ● Basic proficiency in Excel/Mobile Dashboards for tracking community health data.
