Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Machine Fitter to join our assembly and fabrication team. You will be responsible for fitting, assembling, and aligning mechanical components and sub-assemblies for special-purpose machines and automation equipment under the guidance of senior engineers and team leads.
Key Responsibilities
- Fit and assemble mechanical components as per engineering drawings and work instructions
- Perform precision fitting, drilling, tapping, grinding, and filing operations
- Align and mount linear guides, ball screws, cylinders, and mechanical assemblies on machine structures
- Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and height gauges for inspection
- Assemble pneumatic and hydraulic components as per layout and circuit diagrams
- Carry out trial runs and report deviations to the engineering team
- Assist in machine erection, installation, and commissioning at customer sites when required
- Maintain tools, fixtures, and workshop equipment in good working condition
- Follow safety procedures and housekeeping standards at all times
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of fitting tools: files, drills, taps, dies, spanners, and hand tools
- Ability to read simple engineering and assembly drawings
- Knowledge of measuring instruments: vernier caliper, micrometer, dial indicator
- Understanding of fits, tolerances, and surface finish basics
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and work in a team environment
Good to Have
- Exposure to SPM / jig / fixture assembly
- Basic knowledge of pneumatic components (cylinders, valves, fittings)
- Prior shop floor experience in a mechanical or automation company
- Familiarity with GD&T basics
Pay: From ₹15,000.00 per month
