Role Overview
We are looking for a Junior Frontend Developer to join our engineering team. You will work closely with senior engineers and designers to build responsive, user-facing interfaces for the product. This is a hands-on, growth-focused role: we expect solid fundamentals in the web platform and React, and we will help you ramp up on our project stack (Next.js) on the job. The right person is curious, takes feedback well, and wants to grow into a strong frontend engineer by shipping real features in production.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain user-facing features in React under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Translate designs and wireframes into clean, responsive UI.
- Write clean, readable, and reusable code in JavaScript / TypeScript.
- Integrate the frontend with backend APIs and handle application state.
- Debug, fix, and test UI and integration issues across the features you work on.
- Participate in code reviews and sprint ceremonies, and learn the team's conventions.
Must-Have (Required)
- Around 1 year of frontend experience — internships, freelance, or strong personal/academic projects all count.
- Solid HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals — a good grasp of the modern web platform.
- Prior React experience — a working understanding of components, props, state, and hooks.
- Basic understanding of responsive design and cross-browser behaviour.
- Basic understanding of how to consume REST APIs from the frontend.
- Comfortable using Git for version control.
- Good problem-solving instincts, willingness to learn, and clear communication.
Good to Have (Any of these is a plus, none required)
We don't expect juniors to know our project stack on day one — we'll train you on Next.js. Any prior exposure to the below is a bonus, not a barrier:
- TypeScript - any hands-on experience.
- Next.js - any exposure to routing, SSR/SSG, or server components.
- State management (Redux, Zustand, or React Query).
- Tailwind CSS or another modern styling approach.
- Web accessibility (a11y) and performance basics.
- Basic Unix/Linux command-line comfort.
- Familiarity with testing tools (e.g. Jest, React Testing Library) or project trackers (Asana, Jira, Notion).
What This Role Is
- A genuine entry point for someone with strong fundamentals who wants to grow fast.
- Mentored, with real code review and ownership of features that ship.
- A clear path from Junior toward mid-level frontend engineering.
What This Role Is Not
- Not a role that requires prior Next.js experience.
- Not a senior or solo-ownership role - you'll work under senior guidance.
Pay: ₹400,000.00 per year
