Key Responsibilities:
Grease Production & Batch Operations Plan, execute, and supervise grease manufacturing batches across open kettle processes, ensuring adherence to standard formulations and process parameters (temperature ramps, reaction time, cooling rates, milling/homogenization). Lead production of the full grease portfolio, including: Lithium Grease (AP3, MP3, Long Life — Servo/HP type) Lithium Complex Grease (Licom 2, Licom 3, Licom Blue) Calcium Anhydrous Grease (Calcium MP3, EP0/00/000/2/3, Calcium Gel) Calcium Sulphonate / Calcium Complex Grease Sodium Grease (Wheel Bearing Grease) Clay-based Grease Chassis / Crushing Grease Specialty defence/institutional greases Oversee blending and processing of associated oils: engine oil, gear oil, cutting oil, hydraulic oil, and rust preventive oil. Manage batch transfer, circulation, and pilot kettle trials for new formulations or customer-specific/export specifications. Ensure smooth operation of homogenizers, milling machines, boilers, cooling towers, cooling kettles, motors, and small-pack filling lines. Coordinate safe tanker unloading operations as per process and safety protocol. 2. Quality & Testing Work closely with QC/lab to ensure grease and base oil samples meet required test parameters, including: Penetration, Drop Point (ASTM D566/D2265), Alkalinity, Acidity, Water Content, Heat Stability, Copper Corrosion, Oxidation Stability, Oil Separation, Roll Stability, Four Ball Weld Load, Timken OK Load, Water Wash-Out, Wheel Bearing Test, SAP Value. Base oil viscosity extraction, Kinematic Viscosity (40°C/100°C), Flash Point, Pour Point, TAN/TBN, Aniline Point, Demulsibility, pH, Ash Content, Evaporation Loss. Ensure batch release aligns with internal specs and customer/export/government quality requirements. Investigate and resolve off-spec batches, working with the lab to identify root cause (formulation, process, or raw material related). 3. Compliance & Order Readiness Ensure production processes and documentation meet the standards required for export shipments and government/institutional tenders. Maintain batch manufacturing records, process logs, and traceability documentation suitable for export/government audit and inspection requirements. Support QA/regulatory teams in preparing technical data sheets, COAs, and compliance documentation for international and government buyers.
Required Qualifications Any Degree/diploma - Bachelor’s/ Master's from a recognized university.
3-5 years of hands-on experience in grease and lubricant manufacturing, with proven exposure to open kettle batch processes. Demonstrated working knowledge of Lithium, Lithium Complex, Sodium, Clay, and Calcium Sulphonate grease chemistries.
Practical experience with grease plant machinery: homogenizers, milling machines, boilers, pressure/open/cooling kettles, cooling towers, batch transfer systems, and pilot plant kettles. Strong understanding of oil and grease testing parameters and their significance to product performance.
