About the Role
Summerville School is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and dedicated Principal to provide academic leadership and oversee the overall administration and development of the school. The ideal candidate should be an inspiring educational leader with strong administrative, communication, and people-management skills, committed to maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, discipline, and student well-being.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day academic and administrative operations of the school, ensuring the smooth functioning of all departments.
- Oversee curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation to ensure high-quality education and continuous academic improvement.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes student participation, motivation, discipline, and overall well-being.
- Provide effective leadership and guidance to teachers and staff, encouraging professional development and teamwork.
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels with teachers, staff members, students, parents, management, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor academic performance and implement strategies for continuous improvement in teaching and learning outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with CISCE guidelines, regulatory requirements, school policies, and applicable accreditation standards.
- Promote a culture of innovation, creativity, values, and holistic development among students.
- Oversee student discipline, safeguarding, attendance, and welfare in coordination with the relevant staff.
- Coordinate and supervise examinations, assessments, school events, co-curricular activities, and other academic programmes.
- Work closely with the School Management to develop and implement the school's vision, mission, strategic goals, and policies.
- Maintain a strong and positive relationship with parents and the wider school community.
- Represent the school professionally in interactions with educational authorities, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Master's Degree from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. professional qualification in Education.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience after completing a Master's Degree, preferably in a senior academic or school leadership position.
- Experience in a CISCE/ICSE/ISC-affiliated school will be an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage academic and administrative responsibilities effectively.
