Job Summary:
Sr. Backend Software Engineer (B3) role focused on designing, developing and optimizing, secure backend services using Java, Spring Boot, AWS and relational databases within a hybrid work model. This role involves building resilient APIs and data integrations, enhancing application performance and reliability, while collaborating with cross functional teams to deliver scalable solutions that support key business capabilities and improve customer experiences.
Responsibilities:
Deep proficiency in PL/SQL with proven experience in database stored procedures query optimization and data management within large-scale relational database environments.
Strong practical knowledge of AWS cloud services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS and API Gateway is essential with demonstrated ability to build deploy and maintain cloud-native or cloud-integrated applications at scale
Experience with CI/CD pipelines containerization technologies such as Docker and microservices architecture will be considered a strong advantages
Optimize application performance by analyzing bottlenecks tuning queries refining resource usage and applying best practices to achieve low latency and high throughput for core services
Collaborate with product owners business analysts and quality engineering partners to refine requirements clarify technical constraints and deliver increments that provide measurable business value
Ensure secure coding practices by applying authentication authorization data protection and logging controls that support compliance and reduce operational and security risks for the organization
Create and maintain clear technical documentation including service designs API specifications database models and deployment procedures to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity
Participate in code reviews pair programming and design discussions to uphold coding standards improve maintainability and foster a culture of continuous technical improvement within the team
Develop automated unit integration and service level tests to enhance reliability support continuous integration pipelines and reduce regression risks during frequent releases
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues by analyzing logs metrics and traces and by implementing corrective and preventive measures that minimize service disruptions
Contribute to migration and modernization efforts by refactoring legacy components into modular cloud friendly services that better support the organizations long term technology roadmap
Coordinate with infrastructure and DevOps colleagues to define deployment strategies monitor application health and streamline release processes for hybrid work environments and day shift operations
Engage in continuous learning of emerging AWS, Java, Spring Boot and database capabilities to introduce practical improvements that enhance system stability developer productivity and customer outcomes
Qualifications:
Exhibit professional experience in designing and building backend systems using core Java and Spring Boot frameworks with a strong focus on modularity maintainability and testability
Demonstrate hands on expertise in SQL and PL SQL, mySQL including schema design complex queries stored procedures and performance tuning for transactional workloads
Apply practical experience working with AWS services for application hosting data storage and integration while following recommended security and cost optimization practices
Utilize solid understanding of RESTful API design patterns microservice principles and integration techniques to support interoperable and reusable services across platforms
Show proven background in using version control systems build tools and continuous integration pipelines to enable reliable and repeatable software delivery
Display strong problem solving skills and the ability to analyze production incidents identify root causes and implement durable fixes that improve overall system resilience
Leverage effective communication and collaboration skills to work productively in a hybrid model across distributed teams stakeholders and disciplines while supporting inclusive and respectful interactions
Combine eight to eleven years of software engineering experience with a track record of delivering stable scalable and secure solutions that contribute positively to business outcomes and societal impact
