We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Furniture Draftsman to join our design and production team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between creative design concepts and factory-floor execution. You will be responsible for transforming design sketches, renderings, and concepts into highly accurate, detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and cutting lists.
The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of furniture construction, joinery, and material behavior (particularly solid woods, engineered woods, and metal integration), ensuring that every piece can be manufactured efficiently without compromising structural integrity or aesthetic value.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Drafting & 3D Modeling
- Convert 2D design concepts, sketches, and reference images into detailed, production-ready technical drawings using AutoCAD (2D) and 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, or Fusion 360).
- Create comprehensive construction drawings, including exploded views, detailed joinery sections, hardware placements, and assembly mechanisms.
- Ensure all drawings adhere to international manufacturing standards, precise tolerances, and specific client customization requests.
2. Bill of Materials (BOM) & Cutting Lists
- Generate accurate, itemized Bills of Materials (BOM) and precise cutting lists for the production floor to minimize material wastage.
- Specify hardware, fasteners, finishes, and peripheral materials (glass, metal inserts, stone, upholstery) required for each piece.
3. Production Collaboration & Value Engineering
- Coordinate closely with the design team, factory supervisors, and prototype makers to review designs for manufacturing feasibility (DFM).
- Suggest structural optimizations or alternative construction methods to improve product durability, reduce production time, or optimize material costs.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing or assembly issues that arise on the shop floor by updating technical documentation in real-time.
4. Documentation & ERP Management
- Maintain a well-organized, version-controlled digital library of all technical drawings, master templates, and product specs.
- Input and manage product data structures, components, and BOMs within the company’s ERP system to ensure seamless workflow integration from design to dispatch.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
