Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – HR to manage and support HR operations at a manufacturing plant in Gujarat. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in plant HR, employee relations, recruitment, statutory compliance, labour laws and HR operations.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth HR functioning at the plant while maintaining compliance with applicable labour regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day HR operations at the manufacturing plant.
- Handle end-to-end recruitment for plant-level positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing and onboarding.
- Manage employee relations and address employee grievances effectively.
- Maintain employee records, attendance, leave and HR documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate and maintain statutory records related to ESIC, PF, Bonus, Gratuity, Factory Act and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with government authorities, labour departments and external consultants whenever required.
- Support payroll-related activities and ensure accurate attendance and employee data.
- Handle joining formalities, induction, confirmation, transfers, exits and full & final processes.
- Monitor manpower requirements and coordinate with departmental heads for recruitment and workforce planning.
- Support disciplinary procedures and maintain proper documentation.
- Conduct employee engagement and welfare activities at the plant.
- Prepare HR reports, MIS and management updates.
- Ensure implementation of HR policies and company procedures.
- Coordinate with the management and plant leadership for smooth workforce management.
- Support audits and ensure proper HR and statutory documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
10 - 14 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of Plant HR and employee relations.
- Good understanding of labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Practical knowledge of PF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity and Factory Act.
- Experience in handling blue-collar/manufacturing workforce will be preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and people-management abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and basic HR MIS/reporting.
- Ability to independently manage HR activities at a plant location.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Candidates with prior experience in rubber, tyre, automotive, engineering, chemical, plastic or other manufacturing industries will be preferred.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a plant/manufacturing environment and dealing with both employees and management.
