Educational Qualification
- Diploma in Engineering, preferably in: Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics, Instrumentation engineering discipline will also be considered.
Key Skills and Competencies
A. Site Engineering & Execution
- Good understanding of general site engineering practices and project execution activities.
- Ability to plan, organize, and supervise daily site activities as per project requirements and approved work schedules.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings, layouts, wiring diagrams, termination details, and installation-related documents.
- Ability to coordinate installation activities with civil, electrical, mechanical, fire & life safety, instrumentation, and other interfacing systems.
- Capable of identifying site constraints and resolving routine technical and execution-related issues.
- Ability to coordinate with project engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, customers, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to monitor work progress and ensure completion within the planned schedule.
- Willingness to travel to and work at project sites as required.
Manpower Handling & Work Supervision
- Ability to effectively manage and supervise technicians, electricians, helpers, and subcontractor manpower.
- Experience in allocating daily work activities and monitoring manpower productivity.
- Ability to ensure proper utilization of manpower, tools, equipment, and materials.
- Capability to maintain discipline and good coordination among site teams.
- Ability to identify manpower requirements based on project activities and coordinate deployment accordingly.
- Should be capable of working independently at site with minimum supervision.
C. Tools & Practical Site Skills
The candidate should have practical familiarity with commonly used site tools and equipment, including but not limited to:
- Electric drill machines and hand drills.
- Pliers, cutters, screwdrivers, spanners, and other hand tools.
- Cable preparation and termination tools.
- Measuring and marking tools.
- Basic electrical testing instruments such as multimeter and continuity tester.
- Ladders and access equipment.
- Scaffolding and working-at-height arrangements.
- Basic understanding of safe handling and usage of power tools.
The candidate should be able to ensure that tools and equipment are used correctly and safely and should have a practical, hands-on approach to site work.
D. Work Permit & SHE Compliance
- General awareness of Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) requirements applicable to project sites.
- Ability to understand and follow site safety rules, procedures, and customer requirements.
- Experience or familiarity with work permit systems and coordination for:
- General work permits
- Electrical work permits
- Work at height
- Hot work, where applicable
- Confined-space work, where applicable
- Other project-specific permits
- Ability to coordinate with the site safety team for work permit requirements and compliance.
- Ensure that manpower follows appropriate PPE requirements and safe working practices.
- Awareness of safe use of ladders, scaffolding, power tools, and electrical equipment.
- Should be aware of basic emergency procedures and site safety protocols.
- Must be willing to work in challenging site conditions and comply with customer-specific SHE requirements.
Site Documentation & Paperwork
The candidate should be capable of preparing, maintaining, and organizing routine site documentation, including:
- Daily Progress Reports (DPR).
- Manpower deployment reports.
- Work completion records.
- Installation checklists.
- Inspection requests.
- Material receiving and verification records.
- Work permit-related documentation.
- Testing and commissioning checklists.
- Punch point and snag list records.
- As-built information and site modifications.
- Test reports and commissioning records.
- Site Acceptance Test (SAT) documentation.
- Handover dossiers and completion documentation.
The candidate should be capable of maintaining proper records and ensuring that all required documents are completed and submitted in accordance with project and customer requirements.
F. Testing & Commissioning
- Ability to understand and execute testing and commissioning activities for electrical, electronic, instrumentation, control, and low-voltage systems.
- Ability to follow approved testing and commissioning procedures and checklists.
- Capable of identifying installation deficiencies and coordinating their rectification before commissioning.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting during testing and commissioning.
- Ability to coordinate with other disciplines and interfacing systems during integrated testing.
- Capable of recording test results and maintaining commissioning documentation.
- Ability to participate in functional testing, integrated system testing, and customer demonstrations.
- Ability to support customer inspections and acceptance testing.
G. Data Communication & System Integration
- Basic to intermediate understanding of data communication and networking concepts.
- Awareness of communication between field devices, controllers, panels, and higher-level monitoring or control systems.
- Understanding of the basic principles of communication protocols used for system integration.
- Ability to coordinate and troubleshoot communication links between field equipment and systems such as:
- Fire Alarm Control Panels
- SCADA Systems
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- PLC/Control Systems
- Monitoring and Supervisory Systems
- Ability to understand basic communication architecture, addressing, data mapping, and signal exchange between interfacing systems.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, RS-485, or similar protocols will be an advantage.
- Should be capable of coordinating with system integrators and customer representatives during integration and troubleshooting activities.
H. Commissioning Documentation & Handover
- Ability to prepare and compile commissioning documentation in accordance with project requirements.
- Capable of preparing Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures, checklists, test records, and reports.
- Ability to support and document customer witnessing activities.
- Capable of recording observations, punch points, and corrective actions.
- Ability to coordinate closure of outstanding issues and punch points.
- Capable of preparing system/site handover documentation.
- Ability to coordinate final inspection and acceptance with the customer.
- Should be able to support successful handover of the completed system/site to the customer.

6. Preferred Experience
- Experience: Preferably 3–5 years of relevant site engineering, installation, testing, commissioning, or project execution experience.
- Experience in industrial projects, infrastructure projects, tunnels, transportation projects, power projects, building services, ELV systems, fire & life safety systems, instrumentation, or automation will be an advantage.
7. Key Responsibilities
The Site Engineer shall be responsible for:
- Supervising and coordinating day-to-day site installation and execution activities.
- Managing site manpower and allocating daily work activities.
- Monitoring work progress and reporting site status to the Project Manager/Site Manager.
- Resolving routine technical and site execution issues.
- Coordinating work permits and ensuring compliance with site requirements.
- Ensuring adherence to general SHE guidelines and safe working practices.
- Coordinating with customers, consultants, contractors, and other project teams.
- Ensuring proper use of tools, equipment, ladders, scaffolding, and access arrangements.
- Supporting testing and commissioning activities.
- Troubleshooting field-level issues during testing and commissioning.
- Supporting data communication and integration activities with interfacing systems.
- Preparing commissioning records, test reports, checklists, and SAT documentation.
- Supporting customer demonstrations, inspections, and acceptance testing.
- Maintaining site records, daily reports, punch lists, and other project documentation.
- Coordinating closure of punch points and completion of outstanding works.
- Supporting final system/site handover to the customer.
- Working extended hours and night shifts whenever required for project execution, testing, commissioning, or customer acceptance activities.
Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
