Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and detailed 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings for shop and technical use.
Review and revise drawings for accuracy, compliance, and manufacturing constraints.
Serve as a lead drafting resource on complex and custom design projects.
Incorporate design modifications based on input from engineers, designers, and clients.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior drafters.
Collaborate with engineering and project management to resolve design issues.
Develop detailed drawings for submittals, client approvals, and presentations.
Support 3D modeling and printing initiatives as required.
Maintain and organize the CAD drawing library, ensuring version control and accessibility.
Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding project timelines, deliverables, and
challenges.
Qualifications & Skills
Associate’s degree in drafting, design, mechanical engineering, or related field.
5+ years of professional AutoCAD drafting experience (senior or lead-level preferred).
Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D, including:
o Design, fabrication, and installation drawing approval processes.
o Writing AutoCAD macros.
o Creation of product design BOMs and manufacturing rule sets.
o Development of automated drawing sets.
o IP document management and revision control.
Familiarity with Fusion and 3D printing (preferred).
Prior experience in fenestration or architectural façade industry strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
Exceptional attention to detail with a record of producing accurate, high-quality on-time
deliverables.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
Effective leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
