Documentation & Logs: Maintain precise records of daily activities, miles driven, fuel purchases, and delivery confirmations.
Maintenance & Emergency Protocol: Perform basic, routine maintenance (e.g., checking fluids, tire pressure) and promptly report any mechanical faults to the workshop. Follow established procedures in the event of an accident or breakdown.
Vehicle Inspections: Conduct rigorous pre-trip, in-transit, and post-trip inspections to ensure brakes, tires, lights, and engines are in safe working order before taking the vehicle on the road.
Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to commercial driving laws, such as size and weight restrictions, speed limits, and mandated Hours of Service (HOS) rest breaks to prevent driver fatigue.
Route & Schedule Management: Plan efficient routes using GPS and real-time traffic data, and communicate with dispatchers to ensure all deadlines and delivery schedules are met.
Cargo Management: Oversee or assist in loading and unloading goods, ensure freight is perfectly balanced and strapped down securely, and verify shipping documents for accuracy.
