We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Commodity Manager – Medium Voltage Transformers & Cables to manage and optimize the supply base for critical transformer and cable commodities. In this role, you will develop and execute commodity strategies, drive supplier performance, negotiate commercial agreements, and ensure supply continuity while balancing cost, quality, innovation, and risk. Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Sales, and Project Management teams, you will play a key role in strengthening Siemens' supply chain and supporting sustainable business growth.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies for MV transformers and cables to drive productivity and competitive advantage.
Lead RFQ processes, supplier evaluations, quote analysis, TCO assessments, and sourcing decisions.
Leverage spend analysis, market intelligence, and procurement tools to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve supply chain performance.
Develop and maintain Supply Management Strategies (SMS) aligned with business objectives.
Identify, qualify, onboard, and develop strategic suppliers.
Manage supplier performance through regular reviews, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Build strong partnerships with suppliers to improve quality, innovation, delivery performance, and cost competitiveness.
Support supplier qualification, evaluation, and development programs.
Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, payment conditions, and long-term framework agreements.
Drive productivity and Contribution to Net Income (CNI) initiatives through effective sourcing and commercial strategies.
Optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while ensuring long-term supplier sustainability.
Support logistics and inventory-related commercial agreements.
Monitor market trends, raw material pricing, technology developments, and geopolitical factors impacting transformers and cables.
Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure security of supply.
Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacities, and financial stability to support business continuity.
Partner with Engineering, Quality, Sales, Manufacturing, and Project teams to align supplier capabilities with business and customer requirements.
Support project procurement activities by ensuring timely material availability and risk management.
Contribute to new product development and supplier innovation initiatives.
Track and report procurement KPIs, cost savings, supplier performance, and productivity initiatives.
Ensure transparency and accuracy in procurement reporting and data management.
Monitor implementation and realization of sourcing and cost optimization projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
10–15 years of experience in Commodity Management, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Management, Product Management, Sales, or Product Development.
Strong experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and procurement project management.
Engineering degree, preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in the Electrical Equipment, Power Distribution, or Energy Infrastructure industry.
Direct exposure to transformers, cables, or related electrical commodities.
Strong understanding of TCO analysis, supplier development, and supply chain risk management.
