About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Embedded Engineer Intern interested in electronics, microcontrollers, circuit design, PCB development, and hardware debugging. You will support our engineering team in designing, prototyping, testing, and integrating embedded hardware systems.We value practical skills, projects, and learning ability over degree, branch, college, or academic year.
Key Responsibilities
- Circuit Design: Assist in designing analog and digital circuits and selecting suitable electronic components.
- Prototyping: Build, test, and debug breadboard, wired, and PCB-based prototypes.
- PCB Design: Contribute to schematic capture and PCB layout using KiCad, Altium Designer, Eagle, or similar tools.
- Firmware Development: Develop, modify, and test firmware for microcontrollers such as STM32, ESP32, AVR, ARM Cortex-M, or Arduino-compatible platforms.
- Soldering & Rework: Perform basic SMD and through-hole soldering, assembly, rework, and prototype modifications.
- Debugging & Measurements: Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment to troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues.
- Component Evaluation: Read datasheets and evaluate sensors, regulators, MOSFETs, op-amps, communication modules, and other components.
- System Integration: Integrate embedded boards with sensors, communication interfaces, controllers, gateways, or edge-compute systems.
- Documentation: Maintain clear notes on circuits, firmware, tests, design decisions, and debugging results.
Required Qualifications
- Electronics Fundamentals: Basic understanding of resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, MOSFETs, regulators, op-amps, and common electronic circuits.
- Microcontrollers: Some hands-on exposure to STM32, ESP32, AVR, Arduino, or similar microcontrollers through projects, labs, or self-learning.
- PCB Tools: Familiarity with schematic capture or PCB design using KiCad, Altium Designer, Eagle, or similar tools.
- Hands-On Skills: Comfortable assembling, testing, modifying, and debugging electronic prototypes.
- Datasheets: Able to read component datasheets, reference circuits, application notes, and basic technical documentation.
- Learning Ability: Willing to learn new components, tools, protocols, and hardware development practices.
Nice-to-Have
- Communication Protocols: Exposure to SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, RS-485, etc.
- Power Electronics: Basic understanding of DC-DC converters, batteries, power supplies, power sequencing, or related concepts.
- Programming: Basic knowledge of embedded C/C++, Arduino, or similar firmware development environments.
- Debugging Tools: Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, programmers, debuggers, or other electronics test equipment.
- Projects: Personal, academic, robotics-club, hackathon, or hobby projects, preferably documented through GitHub, project reports, photos, or a portfolio.
