College of Nursing, Meerut, is seeking an experienced and dynamic academic leader to serve as Principal of the institution. The Principal will be responsible for providing academic, administrative, and strategic leadership while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), Uttar Pradesh Nurses & Midwives Council (UPNMC), affiliated university, and other statutory authorities.
The role requires a visionary professional capable of driving academic excellence, faculty development, student success, institutional growth, and quality assurance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
- Provide overall leadership for academic planning, curriculum implementation, and educational quality.
- Ensure effective teaching-learning processes and achievement of academic objectives.
- Monitor student performance, examinations, and academic outcomes.
- Promote research, publications, seminars, workshops, and faculty development programs.
- Foster a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Indian Nursing Council (INC), State Nursing Council, University, and Government norms.
- Coordinate and manage inspections, audits, accreditation visits, and regulatory reviews.
- Maintain all statutory records, reports, and documentation.
- Ensure timely submission of compliance reports and institutional data.
Administration & Operations
- Supervise the day-to-day administration and functioning of the college.
- Ensure smooth operation of academic departments, laboratories, library, and clinical training facilities.
- Coordinate with affiliated hospitals for clinical postings and internships.
- Maintain discipline, professional ethics, and institutional standards.
Faculty Management
- Lead recruitment, orientation, mentoring, and performance evaluation of faculty members.
- Conduct faculty meetings and review academic progress regularly.
- Encourage faculty members to pursue higher education, research, and professional development activities.
Student Welfare & Development
- Promote student engagement, discipline, and professional conduct.
- Address student concerns and grievances effectively.
- Support co-curricular, extracurricular, and community outreach activities.
- Facilitate student counseling and career guidance initiatives.
Institutional Growth & Development
- Support admissions planning and student enrollment initiatives.
- Build and strengthen partnerships with hospitals, healthcare institutions, and academic organizations.
- Contribute to institutional branding, outreach, and strategic growth plans.
- Assist management in achieving long-term academic and operational objectives.
Financial & Resource Management
- Assist in budget preparation and resource planning.
- Monitor utilization of institutional resources.
- Recommend infrastructure upgrades and academic resource enhancements.
- Ensure efficient and cost-effective administration.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications
- M.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with a State Nursing Council.
- Must fulfill eligibility criteria prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) for the position of Principal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Nursing or related healthcare discipline.
- Additional qualifications in Healthcare Administration, Hospital Management, Education Management, or Academic Leadership will be preferred.
Experience Requirements
Mandatory Experience
- Minimum 15 years of teaching experience in Nursing Education after obtaining M.Sc. Nursing.
- At least 10 years of experience in a recognized College of Nursing.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior academic or administrative leadership role such as:
o Principal
o Vice Principal
o Professor-cum-Principal
o Head of Department
o Dean / Academic Head Preferred Experience
- Experience in handling INC, State Nursing Council, and University inspections.
- Experience with accreditation and quality assurance processes.
- Experience in establishing, expanding, or managing nursing institutions.
- Proven track record of faculty leadership, academic excellence, and institutional growth.
