Metal Fabricator / Industrial Fabrication Business Development - Bengaluru
We are looking for a practical, field-oriented person with experience in metal fabrication, welding, machining, industrial projects, and customer development.
This is not only a shop-floor role. The ideal person should understand fabrication work and also be able to meet industrial customers, prepare quotations, estimate costs, coordinate vendors, follow up on RFQs, and help win profitable work from factories, OEMs, PSUs, aerospace/defence vendors, and industrial customers.
Responsibilities
- Understand customer requirements for fabrication, welding, machining, bought-out parts, and industrial project work.
- Visit factories, OEMs, PSU/vendor-development teams, and industrial customers to generate inquiries and RFQs.
- Prepare quotations, BOQs, costing sheets, vendor comparisons, and gross-margin estimates.
- Coordinate with vendors/subcontractors for welding, fabrication, machining, powder coating, inspection, site work, and delivery.
- Identify product or service areas where the company can win repeatable, profitable work.
- Generate leads and purchase-order opportunities from HAL, BEL, BEML, BHEL, ISRO/DRDO ecosystem, aerospace vendors, machine builders, industrial contractors, and private factories.
- Evaluate tender opportunities but avoid low-margin bidding for the sake of revenue.
- Manage work from inquiry to quote to PO to delivery to collection.
- Maintain weekly updates on leads, customer meetings, quotes, tenders, POs, gross margin, execution status, receivables, and issues.
Requirements
- 5-15 years of experience in metal fabrication, industrial sales, mechanical engineering projects, machine building, welding/fabrication, vendor development, or engineering product sales.
- Mechanical, production, or industrial engineering diploma/degree preferred. Practical experience matters more than credentials.
- Experience selling to or working with industrial/PSU customers such as HAL, BEL, BEML, BHEL, ISRO/DRDO ecosystem, railways, defence suppliers, aerospace vendors, OEMs, or large factories is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read basic engineering drawings and understand fabrication, welding, and machining processes.
- Comfortable creating quotations, costing sheets, BOQs, vendor comparisons, and gross-margin estimates.
- Strong field-sales discipline: prospecting, follow-up, customer meetings, negotiation, and collection awareness.
- High ownership and comfort with field work, customer follow-up, and practical execution.
- Bengaluru-based and willing to travel locally for customer/vendor visits.
- English plus Kannada/Hindi preferred.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
