Job Summary
PAX Shipping is looking for an experienced Shipping Coordinator to manage and coordinate daily shipping operations, vessel agency activities, and team functions. The selected candidate will work closely with the CEO and Operations Manager to ensure smooth execution of vessel operations, documentation, client coordination, and operational planning.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in shipping operations, vessel agency, or maritime logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping Operations & Vessel Agency Coordination
- Coordinate end-to-end vessel agency operations from vessel arrival to departure.
- Monitor vessel schedules and ensure timely completion of operational requirements.
- Coordinate with ship owners, charterers, masters, port authorities, customs, terminals, and service providers.
- Arrange and follow up on vessel-related services including port formalities, documentation, crew requirements, and operational support.
- Ensure smooth vessel turnaround and minimize operational delays.
Team Management & Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate the shipping operations team.
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor completion of operational activities.
- Provide guidance to team members and ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Maintain effective communication between operations, management, and external stakeholders.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare, verify, and maintain shipping and vessel-related documentation.
- Ensure accuracy of port documents, invoices, statements, and operational records.
- Prepare vessel status reports and operational updates for management.
- Maintain proper records of vessel calls and operational activities.
Support to Management
- Assist the CEO and Operations Manager in daily operational planning and decision-making.
- Provide regular updates on vessel operations, challenges, and progress.
- Support process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain professional communication with clients, vessel owners, agents, and service providers.
- Respond to operational queries and ensure timely resolution.
- Build strong relationships with customers and business partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Shipping, Logistics, Maritime Studies, or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of port operations, vessel documentation, and shipping procedures.
- Experience in handling vessel agency operations will be an advantage.
- Previous experience in team coordination or supervisory roles preferred.
- Good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operational activities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and shipping-related software.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
