Job Summary
The Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting and financial activities of the Group of Hotels from the Corporate Office.
The position will ensure accurate accounting, timely financial reporting, statutory compliance, reconciliation, cash-flow monitoring, internal controls, and coordination with the Finance & Accounts teams of all hotel properties.
The role will also support management with financial analysis, budgeting, cost control, and decision-making to improve the financial performance of the hotel group.
Key Responsibilities1. Corporate Accounts & Financial Control
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the hotel group at the Corporate Office.
- Review accounting transactions and ensure accurate classification and posting.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and inter-company transactions.
- Ensure proper accounting of revenue, expenses, assets, liabilities, and provisions.
- Review and approve accounting entries as per company policies.
- Maintain strong financial controls and accounting procedures across all properties.
2. Hotel Property Accounts Coordination
- Coordinate with Accounts Managers / Finance teams of individual hotel properties.
- Review monthly financial information received from each hotel.
- Ensure timely submission of MIS, trial balances, schedules, and financial statements.
- Monitor inter-property and inter-company balances.
- Ensure consistency in accounting practices across all hotels.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and coordinate corrective action with property teams.
3. Month-End & Year-End Closing
- Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
- Review trial balances and general ledger schedules.
- Ensure proper provisions, accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and adjustments.
- Review bank, debtor, creditor, and inter-company reconciliations.
- Ensure timely preparation of Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet.
- Coordinate with auditors during statutory and financial audits.
4. MIS & Management Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports for management.
- Provide hotel-wise and consolidated financial analysis.
- Prepare revenue, expense, profitability, and variance reports.
- Analyze actual performance against budget and previous periods.
- Highlight significant financial variances and recommend corrective measures.
- Provide financial information and reports to senior management/CFO.
5. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process for all hotels.
- Consolidate property-wise budgets at the Corporate Office.
- Monitor actual performance against approved budgets.
- Prepare monthly forecasts and financial projections.
- Assist management in developing cost-reduction and profitability improvement strategies.
6. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Monitor vendor payments and outstanding liabilities.
- Review supplier balances and ageing reports.
- Monitor receivables and ensure timely collection.
- Review corporate and travel-agent outstanding balances.
- Coordinate with hotel teams regarding overdue accounts.
- Ensure proper approval and documentation before processing payments.
7. Bank & Cash Management
- Review daily/periodic cash and bank positions of the group.
- Monitor bank reconciliations for all properties and corporate accounts.
- Assist in cash-flow planning and fund allocation.
- Monitor payment schedules and ensure availability of funds.
- Coordinate with banks regarding account-related matters.
8. Statutory Compliance & Audit
- Ensure timely compliance with applicable statutory requirements, including:
- GST
- TDS
- Income Tax
- PF/ESI, where applicable
- Professional Tax, where applicable
- Other applicable statutory requirements
- Coordinate with external auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, and statutory authorities.
- Ensure audit schedules and supporting documents are prepared on time.
- Follow up on audit observations and implement corrective actions.
9. Internal Controls
- Establish and monitor effective financial controls across hotel properties.
- Review processes relating to revenue, purchasing, inventory, payroll, cash, and payments.
- Identify financial risks, control weaknesses, and potential leakages.
- Conduct periodic reviews and recommend process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company finance policies and SOPs.
10. Revenue & Hotel Finance Review
- Review daily/monthly hotel revenue reports.
- Coordinate with Revenue, Front Office, F&B, Banquets, Stores, Purchase, and Operations teams.
- Review room revenue, F&B revenue, banquet revenue, and other operating income.
- Monitor discounts, complimentary rooms, allowances, cancellations, and revenue adjustments.
- Ensure proper reconciliation between operational systems and accounting records.
11. Team Management
- Supervise and guide the Corporate Accounts team.
- Coordinate with finance teams at individual hotel properties.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Train team members on accounting procedures, controls, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure timely completion of finance activities and reports.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CA Inter / CMA / MBA Finance or equivalent qualification will be an advantage.
- 5–8 years of experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably in the hotel/hospitality industry.
- Experience in a group of hotels, multi-property organization, or corporate finance office is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Good knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Experience with hotel accounting software/ERP systems.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and financial reporting.
Preferred Hospitality Experience
