We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Environment Expert to join our consulting team for the supervision of climate-resilient road reconstruction works in Kerala. The expert will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with environmental standards, managing environmental impacts, and supporting the implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) as part of the project.
Oversee and ensure the implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMP) in line with FIDIC-based and externally aided highway projects.
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental safeguards and sustainability measures.
Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and the Employer’s staff on environmental management and best practices.
Assist in obtaining necessary Environmental and Forest Clearances for project roads, especially those passing through reserve forests, national parks, and sanctuaries.
Conduct regular environmental audits, inspections, and reporting to ensure adherence to contractual and statutory requirements.
Support the client in addressing environmental issues and liaising with relevant regulatory bodies.
Contribute to capacity-building initiatives for project stakeholders regarding environmental compliance and climate-resilient practices.
Education:
Postgraduate degree with specialization in Environmental Engineering.
Graduate degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in the relevant field.
At least 6 years of experience in addressing environmental issues within infrastructure or highway projects.
Demonstrated expertise in implementation of EMPs in externally aided and FIDIC-based major highway projects.
Proven track record in environmental monitoring, auditing, and compliance.
Hands-on experience in organizing training sessions for contractors and client staff.
Familiarity with procedures and processes for obtaining environmental and forest clearances from competent authorities.
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards applicable to road and highway projects.
Expertise in climate resilience and sustainability practices in infrastructure development.
Ability to liaise with government agencies, contractors, and stakeholders effectively.
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Proficiency in preparing technical reports and environmental documentation.
