We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join our Coin Blanking/Packing & Dispatch team in the role of Area Incharge.
Job Purpose:
To manage end-to-end packing and dispatch of coin blanks / stainless steel blanks, ensuring zero damage, high traceability, and strict adherence to customer, mint, and export quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Specialized Packing for Coin Blanks
- Ensure packing of coin blanks (SS / Cu / Bi-metal) as per customer/mint specifications
- Implement packing standards such as:
o Controlled weight per box/bag
o Proper labeling (heat no., batch no., lot traceability)
- Prevent surface defects (scratches, dents, oxidation) during packing
- Standardize palletization and box stacking to avoid deformation/bending
2. Dispatch Planning
- Align dispatch schedules with production output and QA clearance
- Prioritize dispatches based on:
o Mint/customer urgency
o Export shipments
o Batch readiness
- Ensure FIFO based on batch/heat number traceability
3. Quality Assurance in Dispatch
- Ensure 100% inspection clearance before dispatch
- Maintain strict control on:
o Mixing of lots (zero tolerance)
o Weight accuracy per pack
o Visual quality before sealing
- Handle customer-specific packing audits
4. Traceability & Documentation (Critical for Coin Blanks)
- Maintain complete traceability:
o Heat number Batch Finished blanks Dispatch lot
o Test certificates
o Packing list with batch details
- Maintain records for audit (internal/customer/mint audits)
5. Inventory Control (Finished Goods)
- Maintain batch-wise and grade-wise inventory
- Ensure proper storage to prevent:
o Corrosion
o Surface damage
o Bending due to stacking
6. Handling & Damage Prevention
- Implement safe handling practices
- Ensure proper use of:
o Wooden pallets
o Strapping and shrink wrapping
o Bending issues in softer blanks
o Edge damage and scratches
7. Transport & Logistics Management
- Ensure vehicle condition to prevent transit damage
- Coordinate with logistics for container loading (export shipments)
8. Team Management
o Packing operators
o Dispatch supervisors
o Contract labor (loading/unloading)
- Plan manpower based on dispatch schedule peaks
- Train team on:
o Handling of precision components
o Quality awareness
o Safety practices
9. Safety & Compliance
o Material handling safety norms
o Ergonomics in packing area
o Fire and storage safety
- Conduct periodic safety audits in dispatch area
10. Continuous Improvement (Critical Focus Area)
o Packing cost reduction
o Reduction in customer complaints (scratches, bends, corrosion)
o Loading/unloading efficiency
o 5S in packing area
o Kaizen for packaging optimization
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: B.E./B.Tech / Diploma (Mechanical/Production) or Supply Chain
- Experience: 2–5 years in press shop / metal industry / coin blanks / precision components
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of metal blanking / press shop operations
- Knowledge of material behavior (hardness vs flatness vs bend)
- Expertise in packing standards for precision components
- ERP/SAP knowledge for batch tracking
- Strong attention to detail (critical for traceability)
