A Farm Supervisor oversees daily agricultural operations, directing work crews and implementing crop or livestock production plans. They are responsible for worker schedules, equipment maintenance, and ensuring that farming activities meet yield targets, budget goals, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Workforce Management: Assign daily tasks to farm laborers, monitor attendance and productivity, and provide on-the-job training.
- Operational Execution: Oversee core activities such as land preparation, sowing, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting.
- Resource & Inventory Management: Track the usage of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and feed. Maintain stock levels and coordinate with vendors.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect farm buildings and machinery, organizing repairs to prevent downtime during critical seasons.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce health and safety regulations, biosecurity policies, and sustainable farming practices.
- Record Keeping: Document daily operations, labor hours, and crop/livestock yields to generate regular progress reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, or a related field.
- Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in farm operations or a supervisory role.
- Skills: Strong understanding of modern farming techniques, basic mechanical aptitude, and proficiency in operating farm machinery.
- Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, time management, and physical stamina to work in varied outdoor environments.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
