Job Purpose
The Site Supervisor – Solar Plant Maintenance will be responsible for the efficient operation, preventive and breakdown maintenance, performance monitoring, and overall supervision of solar power plants. The role ensures maximum plant availability, safe operations, statutory compliance, and effective coordination with technicians, clients, and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operation and maintenance of the solar plant to ensure maximum generation and minimum downtime.
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of solar PV modules, inverters, SCBs, ACDB/DCDB, transformers, HT/LT panels, switchgear, cables, earthing, and associated electrical systems.
- Monitor plant performance through SCADA/inverter portals, analyse generation losses, troubleshoot faults, and implement corrective actions.
- Supervise technicians, allocate daily work, monitor productivity, and ensure quality execution.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, PPE usage, LOTO procedures, and company HSE policies.
- Maintain maintenance records, generation reports, equipment history, spare inventory, and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Coordinate with clients, OEMs, vendors, DISCOM authorities, and management for smooth plant operations.
- Ensure proper housekeeping, asset management, and timely completion of all maintenance activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or ITI Electrician/Wireman with relevant experience.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in solar power plant operation and maintenance.
- Practical knowledge of SCADA, inverters, HT/LT systems, transformers, electrical testing, fault diagnosis, and reading electrical drawings/SLDs.
- Experience in supervising maintenance teams and managing utility-scale or rooftop solar projects will be preferred.
Skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and reporting.
- Ability to work independently, manage teams, and respond to emergency breakdowns.
- Valid two-wheeler driving licence will be an added advantage.
Salary & Benefits
- CTC: ₹20,000 – ₹23,000 per month (Employer PF contribution included in CTC).
