About This Opportunity:
At Ericsson, we are looking for a Senior Python Developer with deep expertise in Django to join our high-performing Automation Engineering team. In this role, you will play a lead technical role in designing, developing, and delivering robust automation solutions within managed service delivery for our global customers. You will work against approved requirements and high-level design (HLD) documentation to build scalable, high-performance automation applications that meet both functional and business goals.

What You Will Do:

Lead end-to-end solution design, development, and integration of automation applications using Python and Django

Architect and build scalable, maintainable backend systems aligned with enterprise-grade standards

Drive problem-solving and critical thinking across complex technical challenges in managed service environments

Take complete ownership of automation applications — including codebase, architecture, access management, and security parameters — ensuring seamless knowledge transfer to relevant stakeholders

Proactively communicate timely updates to all affected partners regarding any changes, incidents, or new factors impacting deployed automation solutions

Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and mentoring of junior developers

Collaborate cross-functionally with solution architects, product owners, and operations teams to deliver results that consistently meet and exceed customer expectations
The Skills You Bring:
Must-Have:

5+ years of hands-on Python development experience with a strong portfolio of production-grade applications

Expert-level proficiency in Django, including Django ORM, middleware, class-based views, signals, and custom management commands

Deep understanding of Django REST Framework (DRF) for building and consuming RESTful APIs

Strong command of object-oriented programming (OOP), SOLID principles, and advanced design patterns

Proven experience designing and implementing microservices architecture

Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including query optimization and schema design

Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) is highly valued

Strong working knowledge of Git and collaborative branching strategies (e.g., GitFlow)

Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies
Good to Have:

Familiarity with Flask or FastAPI in addition to Django

Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)

Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Experience in telecom or managed services domain is a strong advantage

Familiarity with security best practices in web application development (OWASP, token-based auth, OAuth2)
