ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Website Developer with deep expertise in WordPress and Shopify development, combined with strong capabilities in website security, performance optimization, and technical troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will take ownership of our web properties, ensure they are secure, fast, and conversion-optimized, and lead junior developers on best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. WordPress Development
- Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress websites, themes, and plugins
- Build high-performance landing pages, blogs, and multi-page websites on WordPress
- Integrate WooCommerce for ecommerce functionality where required
- Manage WordPress updates, backups, database optimization, and server configurations
- Customize and extend existing themes using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
2. Shopify Development
- Build, customize, and maintain Shopify stores from scratch or from existing templates
- Develop custom Shopify themes using Liquid templating language
- Integrate third-party apps, payment gateways, and APIs with Shopify stores
- Optimize Shopify store speed, UX, and conversion rate (CRO)
- Manage product listings, collections, metafields, and store configurations
- Handle Shopify Plus custom checkout and scripts where applicable
3. Website Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Diagnose and resolve website bugs, broken layouts, slow loading, and downtime issues
- Debug JavaScript errors and theme/plugin compatibility issues
- Monitor website uptime and performance using tools like GTMetrix, Google PageSpeed, or Pingdom
- Resolve hosting, DNS, SSL certificate, and domain-related issues
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues
4. Website Security & Cyber Attack Prevention
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments on all web properties
- Implement security hardening — firewall rules, brute-force protection, login restrictions
- Install, configure, and monitor security plugins (e.g., Wordfence, Sucuri, iThemes Security)
- Protect websites from SQL injection, XSS attacks, DDoS attempts, and malware injections
- Monitor for unauthorized access, suspicious activity, and compromised files
- Set up and manage SSL/TLS certificates, HTTPS enforcement, and secure headers
- Respond to and remediate security incidents, hacking attempts, and data breaches
- Maintain regular encrypted backups and develop a disaster recovery plan
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (jQuery / Vanilla JS)
- Experience with Shopify Liquid templating and Shopify CLI
- Knowledge of website security frameworks and cyber threat mitigation
- Hands-on experience with cPanel, Cloudflare, DNS management, and web hosting environments
- Familiarity with Git version control and deployment workflows
- Understanding of SEO best practices, Core Web Vitals, and site speed optimization
- Ability to read server logs, error logs, and debug production issues independently
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
PREFERRED / BONUS SKILLS
- Experience with Webflow, Wix, or other CMS platforms
- Knowledge of React.js, Next.js, or headless CMS architectures
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, and tracking setup
- Experience working with Indian D2C or ecommerce brands
- Exposure to GDPR / data protection compliance for websites

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
