Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Instruction
- Teach Economics to Classes XI and XII (CBSE/ICSE/State Board syllabus)
- Cover topics like Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Indian Economic Development, Statistics
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons using modern teaching methods
2. Lesson Planning
- Prepare annual lesson plans, unit plans, and daily teaching schedules
- Design assignments, worksheets, and projects
- Align teaching with board exam requirements
3. Student Assessment
- Conduct tests, exams, and internal assessments
- Evaluate answer sheets and provide constructive feedback
- Track student progress and performance
4. Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment
- Encourage discussion, critical thinking, and participation
5. Academic Support
- Provide extra help to weak students
- Guide students in board exam preparation
- Support students with projects and practical work
6. Co-curricular Involvement
- Participate in school activities, seminars, and competitions
- Organize economics-related events (debates, quizzes, etc.)
7. Administrative Duties
- Maintain records of attendance and performance
- Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher meetings
- Follow school policies and reporting procedures
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Economics (M.A. Economics)
- B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) – usually mandatory
- CTET / State TET (depending on school requirements)
Experience
- 2–5 years of teaching experience preferred
- Experience teaching senior secondary classes is highly valued
Skills Required
- Strong subject knowledge in Economics
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to simplify complex concepts
- Classroom management skills
- Basic computer knowledge (Smart boards, MS Office, online teaching tools)
Work Environment
- Private schools, public schools, junior colleges, or coaching institutes
- Full-time role, usually aligned with academic calendar
