A VMC & CNC Machine Operator cum Programmer is responsible for setting up, operating, and programming CNC and VMC machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The role involves reading technical drawings, selecting and installing cutting tools, creating and editing CNC programs using G-code and M-code, setting machining parameters, and monitoring machine operations to ensure quality production. The operator-programmer performs machine setup, workpiece alignment, tool offset adjustments, and quality inspections using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. They are also responsible for troubleshooting machining issues, optimizing cycle times, maintaining production records, and carrying out basic machine maintenance while following safety and quality standards. This position requires strong knowledge of machining processes, CNC programming, tooling, and precision measurement techniques to achieve accurate and efficient manufacturing results.
