*Job Description: BAMS Doctor – ECHS Billing & Clinical Duties*
_For Hospitals/Nursing Homes with ECHS Empanelment_
*1. Basic Profile*
*Position*: Medical Officer – ECHS / BAMS Doctor
*Department*: ECHS Cell + OPD/IPD
*Reports to*: Medical Superintendent / ECHS Nodal Officer
*Qualification*: BAMS from recognized university + State registration
*Experience*: 0-2 yrs. Fresher BAMS with computer knowledge preferred
*2. Core Responsibilities – ECHS Billing*
1. *Patient Registration & Verification*
- Check ECHS card, dependency status on Kiosk/ECHS portal
- Verify referral from ECHS Polyclinic, validity, specialty covered
- Create UMID entry for OPD/IPD
2. *Billing & Documentation*
- Generate pre-auth for planned admissions/surgeries on ECHS portal
- Code procedures/diagnosis as per CGHS/NABH rates
- Upload clinical notes, discharge summary, bills on BPA portal
- Raise claims within TAT – 7 days of discharge for IPD
- Handle claim queries, rejections, CPD/SO observations
3. *Coordination*
- Liaison with ECHS Regional Center & BPA like UTI-ITSL
- Coordinate with TPA, accounts, pharmacy for medicine billing
- Guide patients for ECHS process, non-admissible items
4. *Compliance*
- Maintain NABH/ECHS guidelines, prescription audits
- Keep record of EIR, referral register, claim tracking sheet
- Ensure no overcharging – only CGHS package rates apply
*3. Clinical Responsibilities – BAMS Scope*
1. *OPD Duties*: Treat general medicine patients, AYUSH OPD as per BAMS scope. No allopathic emergency unless life-saving
2. *IPD Rounds*: Write daily notes, monitor vitals for ECHS admitted patient
