Job Title : Electrical Design Engineer , 2–4 years' experience , Kochi
We require an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our vibrant design studio in Kochi, India to support the design and development of Electrical services: Power, lighting, lightning protection and earthing, fire alarm and emergency lighting, ELV, security, and ICT systems for projects throughout the Middle East. You will collaborate on high end hospitality, residential, retail and commercial developments offering plenty of challenging opportunities to grow in an exciting environment.
The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background and the ability to fully support the Mechanical designs through all project phases, from concept to construction. This role combines technical expertise, and a collaborative mindset to drive innovation and successful project delivery within agreed project timelines and quality parameters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical design and analysis, ensuring compliance with UAE and international standards.
- Support the preparation and review of concept, schematic and detailed design drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
- Collaboration with architectural, interior design, landscape, structural, electrical teams to deliver integrated and efficient MEP design solutions aligning with architectural intent.
- Working with the BIM modelling team to ensure high-quality work and project requirements.
- Participation in design reviews and value engineering.
- Support for document preparation and submission to local authorities for approvals.
- Communicate and coordinate with all disciplines and stakeholders on a daily basis.
- Understand district cooling operator requirements.
- Possess basic knowledge of other disciplines related to building services.Core Competencies and Requirements:
- Proven expertise in Power, lighting, lightning protection and earthing, fire alarm and emergency lighting, , ELV, security, ICT systems design.
- Knowledge of UAE Building Codes (DBC, DEWA, ADDC, DCD, ADCD, TDRA, SIRA, AADC,FEWA), International Electrical Standards and authority approval processes is ideal.
- Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, Dialux, excel, and MS Office.
- Experience in Etap/Amtech is an added advantage.
- Experience in applying BIM and digital tools in MEP engineering workflows.
- Innovative and solution orientated approach to MEP design, with a focus on sustainability and low energy design.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary, multicultural teams.
- Commitment to ethical practice, acting with professionalism, integrity and due diligence in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Proactive mindset and ability to deliver under pressure.
- Demonstratable success in delivering Electrical designs on time.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Batchelors’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Electrical design of buildings within a consultancy environment
