Job overview and responsibilities
The Analyst - Supply Chain Analytics, is responsible for executing advanced analytical solutions for the United Airlines Supply Chain organization including inventory planning, vendor management, components and engines shops, warehousing, and logistics functions. Projects can include the development of dashboards, periodical and ad-hoc reports, and presentation decks. In addition, the successful candidate will own a portfolio of existing dashboards, reports and presentation decks being used the Supply Chain teams.
Apply statistical methods and basic data science techniques to analyze supply chain performance, identify trends, and perform root-cause analysis on operational bottlenecks
Work closely with other Supply Chain teams to ensure data consistency and to solve complex business problems
Utilize SQL to manipulate relational databases and leverage tools like PowerBI to build robust reporting solutions
Manage and execute project plans under time constraints, ensuring that all reporting remains accurate, reliable, and punctual
Proactively experiment with new tools, including emerging or role-specific AI solutions, while being aware of their practical limitations, including accuracy, data confidentiality/privacy, bias, and the need for human judgment

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as math, statistics or engineering required

2+ years of experience in an analytics or data science role required

Proficiency in writing complex queries in SQL to manipulate large relational databases

Strong programming experience in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) for data manipulation and statistical modeling
-
Experience building dashboards and reports in a data visualization tool such as MS PowerBI
-
Experience using MS-Office tools, i.e. MS-Excel, MS-Powerpoint, MS-Word

Familiarity with spreadsheet modeling

Fundamentals of statistical methods

Organized, self-motivated and comfortable executing toward project plans under time constraints

Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship

Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)

Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
