We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Draughtsman to support the design team in preparing technical drawings and documentation for firefighting system projects. The candidate will work closely with Design Engineers to convert engineering concepts into accurate and execution-ready drawings.
Responsibilities:
Drafting & Design Support
- Prepare detailed GA drawings, layout drawings, schematic diagrams, and isometric drawings for firefighting systems including sprinkler, hydrant, pump room, suppression, and fire alarm systems.
- Draft piping layouts and equipment arrangements as per design inputs and applicable standards.
- Revise drawings based on engineer comments, site feedback, and client requirements.
- Assist in preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and material take-offs from drawings.
- Maintain drawing registers, revisions, and documentation control.
- Coordinate with design and project teams to ensure drawings are accurate and execution-ready.
- Support preparation of as-built drawings after project completion.
Requirements:
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Draftsmanship or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in drafting firefighting or MEP systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
- Good understanding of piping layouts and basic firefighting system components.
- Ability to interpret engineering sketches and design inputs accurately.
- Attention to detail and adherence to drafting standards.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- Experience in sprinkler and hydrant system drafting.
- Exposure to pump room layout drawings.
- Knowledge of basic fire safety standards (NBC / IS).
- Familiarity with Revit or BIM tools (advantageous).
