Roles and Responsibilities of a Social Teacher (Grades 6 to 10)Academic Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons for Grades 6 to 10.
- Teach subjects such as History, Geography, Civics, Economics, and Political Science as per the curriculum.
- Prepare yearly, monthly, and weekly lesson plans.
- Explain concepts using real-life examples, maps, charts, activities, and digital tools.
- Conduct classroom discussions, debates, quizzes, and project-based learning activities.
- Encourage critical thinking, analytical skills, and awareness of current affairs.
Student Development
- Develop students’ understanding of society, culture, history, and citizenship.
- Motivate students to participate actively in classroom activities.
- Help students improve communication, presentation, and research skills.
- Guide students in maintaining discipline and good behavior.
- Support slow learners and provide additional academic assistance when needed.
Assessment and Evaluation
- Prepare question papers, worksheets, assignments, and projects.
- Conduct periodic tests, assessments, and examinations.
- Evaluate answer scripts and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, marks, and academic progress.
- Discuss students’ performance with parents during PTMs.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a positive, safe, and interactive classroom environment.
- Ensure proper classroom discipline and time management.
- Encourage respect, teamwork, and ethical values among students.
Co-Curricular Responsibilities
- Organize social science exhibitions, field trips, and awareness programs.
- Conduct activities related to national festivals, important historical events, and current affairs.
- Participate in school events, meetings, workshops, and training programs.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Complete academic records and documentation on time.
- Follow school policies, curriculum guidelines, and academic standards.
- Coordinate with other teachers and school management for student development.
Skills Required
