We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven General Manager of Distribution to spearhead operations for our ITC FMCG portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in FMCG channel sales, distributor management, and route-to-market strategies. You will be responsible for driving market penetration, managing inventory logistics, and leading the sales network to achieve aggressive growth targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Distribution Strategy: Oversee the end-to-end distribution network for ITC products, ensuring optimal width and depth of product placement across General Trade (GT) and Modern Trade (MT).
- Target Achievement: Drive primary and secondary sales volume. Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly targets for the distribution team and ensure consistent territory growth.
- Route-to-Market (RTM): Design and implement efficient beat plans and logistics routes to maximize market coverage while minimizing delivery times.
- Inventory & Supply Chain: Maintain optimum stock levels to prevent stock-outs or overstocking. Ensure FIFO (First-In, First-Out) compliance and manage warehouse operations efficiently.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor a team of Sales Managers, Sales Executives, and delivery personnel. Conduct regular performance reviews and market visits.
- Trade Marketing: Execute company-driven trade promotions, consumer offers, and visibility drives effectively within the designated territory.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong operational relationships with key retailers, wholesalers, and ITC corporate representatives.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Proven track record in FMCG distribution and sales leadership. Prior experience handling ITC products or a similarly diverse, large-scale FMCG portfolio is highly preferred.
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of local distributor networks, retail landscapes, and competitor activities.
- Skills: Exceptional team management, negotiation, and analytical skills. Ability to manage P&L, optimize freight costs, and drive operational efficiency.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively across the designated territory to monitor the market directly.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
