Factory Manager
Job Summary
Responsible for managing the overall factory operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, cost efficiency, safety, manpower utilization, and timely delivery are achieved. The role requires strong leadership, planning, problem-solving, and coordination across production, maintenance, quality, stores, HR, and other functions.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and manage day-to-day factory operations.
Achieve production targets as per the approved production plan.
Monitor productivity, efficiency, downtime, rejection, rework, and overall equipment performance.
Ensure products are manufactured according to quality specifications and customer requirements.
Control manufacturing costs and minimize material, labour, energy, and process losses.
Manage manpower deployment, shift schedules, attendance, discipline, and workforce productivity.
Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure maximum machine availability and minimum breakdowns.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, statutory requirements, and company policies.
Implement 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor raw material availability and coordinate with Stores/Purchase to avoid production interruptions.
Coordinate with Quality, Planning, Dispatch, Sales, HR, and Finance for smooth operations.
Analyze production and operational KPIs and take corrective actions.
Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve capacity and throughput.
Conduct regular production meetings and review operational performance.
Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and operational standards.
Ensure proper housekeeping and workplace discipline.
Handle customer complaints related to production issues in coordination with Quality.
Prepare management reports covering production, productivity, quality, downtime, cost, and manpower.
Develop supervisors and operators through training, coaching, and performance management.

Qualification
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
Additional qualifications in Operations/Manufacturing Management are an advantage.
Experience
Typically 8–15 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial/senior supervisory role.
Experience in production planning, factory operations, manpower management, quality, maintenance coordination, and cost control.
