Create, organize, maintain, and reuse documentation assets using the team’s approved content repository and authoring tools (currently Microsoft Word and SharePoint), while supporting future adoption of structured authoring practices.

Conduct task analysis (TA) and prepare annotated topic lists (ATL).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts (SMEs) across global regions to gather requirements and deliver project outcomes.

Develop reusable, structured technical content aligned with Xylem’s authoring guidelines, information model, and style guide.

Produce and maintain illustrations, graphics, and photo-realistic renderings.

Ensure the completion of the review cycle and software-assisted checks for grammar, style, and terminology.

Initiate translation requests and coordinate translation reviews.

Communicate release updates to stakeholders via designated channels.

Maintain reusable content and contribute to documentation standards, templates, and information architecture to improve content consistency and scalability.

Quickly learn new products, custom technologies, and engineering concepts, and accurately translate them into clear, user-focused documentation.

Contribute to the development of the CCMS structure, templates, and information model.

Create and maintain Topics, Chaptermaps, Bookmaps, and metadata within the CCMS.

Demonstrate flexibility in working hours to support collaboration with stakeholders across different time zones, as business needs require.

Work effectively in a hybrid work environment while maintaining strong communication, collaboration, and accountability.

Participate in initiatives to enhance documentation quality, workflow efficiency, and content governance.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Aeronautical, Computer Science, or equivalent field).

3–6 years of professional experience as a Technical Writer (Senior level) in an international, English-language environment.

Proven expertise in developing reusable technical documentation using structured or unstructured authoring approaches. Experience with DITA XML and single-sourcing practices is an advantage but not required.

Basic experience creating technical illustrations in vector or raster formats.

Experience documenting software, hardware, or custom-engineered solutions, with the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar technologies.

Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.

Detail-oriented, structured, and dependable in meeting deadlines.

Effective communicator with global, cross-functional teams.

Familiarity with Simplified Technical English (STE) and style guides such as the Microsoft or Chicago Manual of Style.

Understanding of DDLC, SDLC, and Agile workflows.

Knowledge of single sourcing, metadata management, and conditional profiling.

Ability to quickly learn new technologies, understand engineering customizations, and evaluate their impact on the end-user experience.

Experience reusing and maintaining content from shared repositories while ensuring consistency and accuracy.

Proficiency in authoring MS Word.

Experience using Microsoft SharePoint or similar content repositories for document management and content reuse.

Experience with terminology and content quality tools such as Acrolinx.

Proficiency with illustration tools (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Creo Illustrate, KeyShot).

Experience with collaboration tools like JIRA and Confluence.

Understanding of content publishing pipelines and localization workflows.

Experience with structured authoring concepts is preferred. Familiarity with DITA XML, CCMS platforms (such as Astoria On-Demand or AEM), and XML editors (such as Oxygen XML Editor or Arbortext Editor) is an advantage.

Working knowledge of XML-based formats and related technologies (XQuery, metadata tagging).

Interest in GenAI and automation using Python or similar programming languages is desirable.
