Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented GST & Tax Assistant to manage GST compliance, Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation, return filing, vendor compliance, and GST reporting. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with GST laws, SAP, and the GST Portal, along with strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
Key Responsibilities
GST Compliance & Return Filing
- Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.).
- Manage GST portal activities including return filing, challan payments, PMT-09, and ledger monitoring.
- Handle Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM), zero-rated supplies, advance receipts, and e-invoicing (IRN).
- Prepare and validate ISD and cross-charge invoices.
ITC Reconciliation
- Perform reconciliation of GSTR-2B, General Ledger (GL), Purchase Register, and GR/IR balances.
- Identify ITC mismatches, reversals, and re-availment.
- Track vendor compliance and resolve invoice mismatches.
- Maintain reconciliation reports and GST working files.
Vendor Compliance
- Monitor vendor GST compliance to safeguard Input Tax Credit.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal departments for discrepancy resolution.
- Classify vendors based on GST compliance.
- Monitor indirect tax-related vendor payments.
MIS & Reporting
- Prepare GST MIS reports including:
- GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B reports
- ITC reconciliation
- Vendor mismatch reports
- RCM summaries
- Purchase & Sales GST analytics
Audit & Compliance
- Support GST audits, statutory audits, and tax assessments.
- Maintain accurate GST documentation and compliance records.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of GST laws and return filing.
- Hands-on experience with ITC reconciliation.
- Good understanding of the GST Portal.
- Working knowledge of SAP.
- Advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Lookup Functions).
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
