About the Role
AvatarX is looking for a Founding Identity & Security Engineer to build and manage Avatar Pass, the centralized identity platform powering authentication, authorization, and user identity across the entire AvatarX ecosystem.
You will develop secure authentication systems, identity APIs, access management, and authentication SDKs that enable seamless and secure access across all AvatarX applications and partner platforms.
As one of the first engineering hires, you will establish the foundation for security, authentication, and identity management used by millions of future users.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop authentication and identity services.
Build secure OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect authentication flows.
Develop user authentication, authorization, and session management.
Design and maintain JWT-based authentication systems.
Build APIs and SDKs for authentication and identity management.
Implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) and secure login mechanisms.
Integrate third-party identity providers and social login services.
Ensure platform security through encryption, secure coding practices, and vulnerability mitigation.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve authentication performance and reliability.
Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate Avatar Pass across all products.
Required Skills
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
Experience with Node.js and Next.js.
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs.
Experience with PostgreSQL or relational databases.
Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT authentication.
Understanding of authentication and authorization principles.
Experience with Git and GitHub workflows.
Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of secure software development practices.
