Job Summary:**
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic AVP - Software Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Modernization initiatives at GCC India. This role involves overseeing the strategic planning, development, and execution of projects aimed at enhancing our core technology platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and innovation.
Job Responsibilities:**
- Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Define and execute the technical roadmap for platform modernization, aligning with overall business objectives and architectural principles.
- Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices, tools, and technologies (e.g., cloud-native architectures, microservices, DevOps, CI/CD).
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable, and secure software solutions for critical platform components.
- Collaborate closely with product management, architects, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and maintainability through code reviews, testing strategies, and adherence to best practices.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the engineering team.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to platform modernization and software engineering.
Job Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development with at least 3-5 years in a leadership/management role, specifically focused on platform or infrastructure modernization.
* * Proven experience leading large-scale Platform modernization that includes both Legacy platforms to new Tech stack and API modernization as well.
- Deep expertise in modern architectural patterns (microservices, event-driven), distributed systems, and API design.
- Expertise in Kong, Kafka, AWS.
- Should have understanding about Tibco EMS and Data power.
- Proficient with AI to drive migrations
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native application development.
- In-depth knowledge of microservices architecture, API design, and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, Node.js) and associated frameworks.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.
- Solid understanding of database technologies (relational and NoSQL) and data streaming platforms.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire technical teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
