Job Summary
The Computer Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging computer science and information technology lessons in accordance with the CBSE curriculum. The teacher develops students' digital literacy, computational thinking, programming skills, and responsible use of technology while creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Computer Science and Information Technology lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum and school policies.
- Teach computer fundamentals, MS Office applications, internet usage, digital citizenship, coding, programming, databases, , artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity concepts as prescribed for the respective classes.
- Prepare annual plans, lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, practical activities, projects, and assessments.
- Conduct theory and practical classes in the computer laboratory using effective teaching methodologies.
- Assess student learning through periodic tests, practical examinations, projects, portfolios, and classroom activities in accordance with CBSE assessment guidelines.
- Maintain student attendance, assessment records, progress reports, and other academic documentation.
- Integrate ICT tools and digital resources into classroom teaching to enhance student learning.
- Ensure proper maintenance and safe use of computer lab equipment, software, and digital resources.
- Promote cyber safety, ethical use of technology, and responsible digital behavior among students.
- Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher meetings, school functions, professional development programs, and training sessions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives.
- Perform other academic and administrative duties assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or a related discipline.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution (preferred/required as per school norms).
- Relevant teaching experience in a CBSE school is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of the CBSE Computer Science/Information Technology curriculum.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, educational technology tools, and online learning platforms.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Scratch, as applicable to the curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate students and promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and educational best practices.
Working Hours
As per CBSE school norms and the academic calendar, including participation in school events, examinations, parent-teacher meetings, and co-curricular activities.
