EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate in Electrical Trade from a recognized institution; OR
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized Polytechnic/Institution, as applicable to the post.
- Valid Electrician License / Wireman's Permit issued by the competent authority will be preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical safety codes and practices is desirable.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work, preferably in an institutional, industrial, or campus environment.
- Freshers with relevant ITI/Diploma qualifications and apprenticeship training may also be considered.
- Prior experience in handling HT/LT panels, DG sets, UPS systems, and campus-wide electrical infrastructure will be an added advantage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / JOB ROLE
- Installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems, fittings, and equipment across the University campus, including classrooms, hostels, laboratories, and administrative buildings.
- Timely identification and rectification of electrical faults to ensure minimum downtime and uninterrupted power supply.
- Routine inspection and preventive maintenance of wiring, switchboards, distribution panels, transformers, generators, and UPS systems.
- Ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards and University safety protocols at all times.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, complaints, and repair works undertaken.
- Coordinating with external vendors/contractors for major electrical repairs, upgrades, or installations as required.
- Attending to emergency electrical breakdowns promptly, including outside regular working hours when required.
- Assisting in the planning and execution of electrical works for new construction, renovation, or campus events.
