A Sales Representative Intern assists the sales team with lead generation, customer outreach, market research, and administrative tasks. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in the full sales cycle—from prospecting to closing—while developing communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead generation & prospecting – Research and identify potential customers; qualify inbound and outbound leads.
- Outreach – Contact prospects via email, phone, and LinkedIn to introduce products/services and generate interest.
- Customer support – Respond to inquiries, provide product information, and ensure a positive customer experience.
- CRM & data management – Maintain accurate records of leads, contacts, and sales activities in CRM systems.
- Market research – Analyze competitors, industry trends, and target markets to support sales strategies.
- Sales materials – Assist in preparing presentations, proposals, quotes, and marketing collateral.
- Reporting – Track sales metrics, pipeline activity, and provide updates to the sales manager.
- Event support – Represent the company at trade shows, webinars, or promotional events as needed.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace is a plus.
- Interest in sales, marketing, or business development.
