Key Responsibilities
- Translation & Adaptation: Translating documents, websites, and audio from Arabic to English/other languages and vice versa, often adapting slang, cultural nuances, or idioms that do not translate directly.
- Proofreading & Editing: Reviewing translated texts for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and style.
- Industry Specialization: Working with specialized terminology for fields like legal, medical, technical, or marketing sectors.
- Transcription: Converting audio or video recordings from Arabic into written text.
- Tools Usage: Utilizing computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools and dictionaries to ensure consistency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Language Proficiency: Native or near-native fluency in both Arabic and the target language (e.g., English).
- Education: A degree in translation, linguistics, or a related field is typically required.
