Roles and Responsibilities of an English Teacher (Up to Grade 7)
An English Teacher is responsible for creating a positive learning environment that develops students' reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills while fostering confidence and creativity in the use of the English language.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and learning objectives.
- Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, phonics, pronunciation, and spoken English appropriate to students from Grades 1 to 7.
- Develop students' communication, critical thinking, and creative writing skills through interactive classroom activities.
- Assess students' academic performance through classwork, homework, projects, assignments, quizzes, and examinations.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, academic progress, and assessment results.
- Provide constructive feedback and individualized support to help students improve their language skills.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that encourages active participation and respect.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, educational technology, and teaching aids to enhance learning outcomes.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, question papers, learning materials, and classroom activities as required.
- Encourage reading habits by promoting the use of library resources, storytelling sessions, reading activities, and literary appreciation.
- Organize and participate in English-related activities such as debates, elocution, storytelling, spelling bees, essay writing competitions, and literary clubs.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding students' academic progress, behavior, and areas requiring improvement.
- Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher meetings, training programs, workshops, and professional development sessions.
- Maintain classroom discipline and ensure adherence to school rules, policies, and child safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school management in planning academic activities, events, examinations, and curriculum improvement.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and implement appropriate remedial teaching strategies.
- Foster moral values, confidence, teamwork, creativity, and effective communication skills among students.
- Perform other academic and administrative duties assigned by the Principal or School Management from time to time.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
