Job Summary
To plan, coordinate, and monitor all tool room activities—including, material procurement, machining and Supplier follow up—to ensure tools are completed within the committed timeline, cost, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare detailed manufacturing plans for injection moulds, stamping tools, jigs, fixtures, and automation components.
· Review tool drawings, BOMs, estimation sheets, and customer delivery requirements.
- Raw-material procurement
- Process planning
- VMC, Wire EDM, Spark EDM, grinding, and conventional machining
- Tool assembly and debugging
· Prepare daily and weekly machine-loading plans based on capacity and delivery priorities.
· Allocate jobs to available machines and manpower in coordination with the section supervisors.
· Create job cards, process-route sheets, and operation-wise manufacturing schedules.
· Monitor plan-versus-actual progress and identify delays, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints.
· Conduct daily follow-ups with Design, Purchase, Stores, CAM, Machining, Quality, Assembly, Production, and Project teams.
· Ensure raw materials, standard components, electrodes, cutting tools, and inspection requirements are available as per schedule.
· Coordinate outsourcing activities when internal capacity or capability is unavailable.
· Track outsourced jobs and ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
· Prioritize urgent breakdowns, tool corrections, production-support activities, and customer-critical jobs.
· Review machine utilization, manpower utilisation, cycle time, and work-in-progress status.
· Update tool-status reports and communicate expected completion and trial dates to all stakeholders.
· Escalate delays related to material availability, machine breakdowns, quality issues, or resource shortages.
· Maintain proper planning records, revision history, job status, and tool-room performance data.
· Support cost-control initiatives by reducing idle time, waiting time, unnecessary outsourcing, and process delays.
· Participate in project review meetings and provide accurate progress updates.
· Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety requirements, ISO, AS & IATF standards, and tool-room documentation practices.
· Support continuous improvement activities related to productivity, lead-time reduction, and capacity enhancement.QualificationsEducation
· Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, Production Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in tool-room planning, production planning, or tool manufacturing.
· Experience in injection moulds, stamping tools, precision machining, jigs, fixtures, or automation tooling is preferred.
· Good understanding of VMC, Wire EDM, Spark EDM, surface grinding, conventional machining, and tool assembly processes.Technical Skills
· Knowledge of tool-manufacturing processes and operation sequences.
· Ability to understand engineering drawings, tolerances, BOMs, and manufacturing requirements.
· Experience in capacity planning, machine loading, project scheduling, and progress monitoring.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and project-planning tools.
· Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software and machining cycle-time estimation.
- Knowledge of raw materials, heat treatment, surface treatment, and standard tool components.
Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
